Appleyard & Trew LLP is pro-actively managed by nine LLP Partners across four office locations within the UK. Each project undertaken is personally led by a Partner and co-ordinated using specialist teams of surveyors. The Partner-in-Charge will communicate directly with the Client and ensure our level of service is tailored to suit their individual requirements. The Partners like to 'get their hands dirty' which means attending meetings, preparing reports and problem solving any issues that arise.

The Partners are supported in their role by experienced, reliable and conscientious personnel made up of Associates, Surveyors and Administration.

Mark joined Appleyard & Trew in 1979 as a junior Quantity Surveyor and was promoted to Partner in 1989. Jointly responsible for the London office, Mark has worked on most types of buildings during his career including several that have provided abnormal challenges in difficult circumstances. Mark is responsible for overall project management from initial Client liaison through to completion. Outside of work, Mark has a keen interest in motor sport both as a spectator and participant.

Stephen joined Appleyard & Trew at the outset of his career in 1990, and has over the years developed extensive Cost Management skills across many sectors, in particular within Commercial development.As a committed team player with clear business ethics and strong emphasis on repeat business, Steve has helped to drive the Practice to its current enviable position. Married with 3 daughters, the little time Steve has is spent taking part in active sporting adventures.

Mark has broad experience acting as Quantity Surveyor, Project Manager and Employer’s Agent for a variety of Clients. Most recently Mark has specialised in Retail and Social Housing projects, alongside a diverse mix of ‘one off’ projects including private houses, nature reserves, offices and surgery buildings. Mark is a keen music fan and regularly attends the Royal Festival Hall for concerts by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

Mark has been a Quantity Surveyor for almost 30 years and joined Appleyard & Trew in 1995, becoming a Partner in 2001.  Throughout his career Mark has successfully delivered a wide range of diverse projects from small community based schemes to multi-million pound Town Centre Redevelopments.  He brings experience, commitment and a positive attitude to all projects. Much of his sense of humour derives from a life-long love of Manchester City.

Jon joined Appleyard & Trew in 1992.  His practical and pragmatic approach to project and cost management has enabled teams to deliver challenging and complicated projects, particularly for the pharmaceutical industry.  Jon is responsible for the Practice Health & Safety procedures and also leads the CDM Co-ordinator role. Jon’s extensive globe trotting ensures his Christmas hamper from British Airways each year.

Kevin is a Partner based in our London Office, working within a wide range of industry sectors with a varied and interesting Client base. Actively involved in projects from inception to completion, Kevin works closely with his Clients, ensuring best value and the most effective directions to evolve their development programme.  Whilst a family man, Kevin still retains an ambition to play all the golf courses and dive all the coastal wrecks in the South East of England.

John has been with Appleyard & Trew for over 20 years and has developed particular expertise in the delivery of projects in the Education and Sport & Leisure Sectors.  A good communicator, he specialises in advising Clients on initial affordability and ensuring projects are set up correctly from the outset.  He is also responsible for internal marketing and communications within Appleyard & Trew. At weekends John, who is married with two children, operates a part time taxi service.

Mark qualified as a Chartered Surveyor in 1993 and joined Appleyard & Trew in 1999 as a Senior Surveyor and was promoted to Partner in 2008. Mark has extensive experience in delivering Cost Management services in various sectors of the Construction Industry and currently heads Appleyard & Trew’s Heritage and Conservation team. Outside the office, Mark is a keen road cyclist and occasional mountain biker, participating in Sportif’s in the UK and overseas.

Russell has worked with Appleyard & Trew for 10 years and has a broad range of experience in a variety of sectors. Recently involved with Retail, Banking and Housing Clients, Russell has detailed experience in complex procurement and negotiation. His commitment, positive attitude and ability to communicate clearly have proved invaluable to his work within the Practice and in his hobby of performing in a highly acclaimed covers band.
